I have an antique and vintage etsy shop selling antique jewellery but I'm having trouble dating this piece. My partner bought it for me and I believe it to be victorian. It is gold vermeil (marked silver) and is adorned with beautiful deep blood red rose cut garnets. The back is not closed and the stones are secured with claw settings. I love it but would love some help to date it!

Hi, these are refered as bohemian garnets, can be victorian or recent as they are still done.

Thank you for your response. That's the difficulty I'm having- looking at the craftmanship, cut of stones and setting I'm thinking it's more likely to be victorian / early Edwardian. Is 14ct Gold vermeil still used do you know? Many thanks again!

Upon closer exam, the tapered shank is not like modern ones, so could be vic. Or edwardian :-)
      I don't know for 14k vermeil, sorry
