TULIP TABLE, RADIO CITY???

Hi -- the "story" on this table is that it once resided in Radio City Music Hall's lobby. However, I have asked a curator/expert on RCMH who says it is not familiar to him. It is a metal base and the cream and black "marble" top is an extraordinarily heavy resin/plastic that reminds me of bakelite jewelry. The tulip base "thumps" like it is metal, but where paint has chipped away it is white -- which seems to me a strange color for metal. Anyway -- any insight into the table? I'm thinking mid-century and I'd love it if it came form a classic NY location.
