My wife has a Singer sewing machine she got from her Great Grandmother We have the receipt. And the cancelled check. It was purchased in 1892. It has a fake lizard coated wood case, the lizard stuff is beat up but the wood looks good. There is a serial number? on the machine. G9363383
And a serial number? on the receipt 8987546. I don't know if these are serial numbers or what? My wife used it a few years ago and it worked fine.
It has been in climate controlled storage for 2 years. There is a missing part, a plate that goes on the deck by the needle ( can be seen on the 2nd pic). Sorry, I know nothing about sewing machines. Can replacement parts still be found? I would like to know what the model is so I can do further research on the machine. Thanks :D
There is a large amount of information on the web about Singer machines. There may be a plate with the model number on the machine to help, or start checking Google images for a similar machine.
Try these two sites as a start:

Thanks racer4four. This is a 1911 model. As stated we have a receipt dated 1892 but the serial on the machine and the serial on the receipt were different.
No worries.
I have not my stuff nearby but there are a number of suppliers who provide parts for the old girls, and at least one is in the US, so even if they have nothing on line they might be able to help over the phone. Check ebay also.
Lovely old thing....100 years old!!!
The machine in the pictures is a model 66-3, it has the rear attaching feet but also has the mount where the motor is now fitted. With the decal pattern usually known as Red Eye. The correct date batch for it is G- 9331701 9381700 model 66 from a batch of 50,000 commissioned May 16 1922 at the Elizabethport factory in NJ. Most likely originally a treadle machine, it has been put in a new case, possibly at the same time as it was converted to electric with motor and foot controller.
The missing bobbin slide cover can be found new.
