Miniture Glass Bottle.
Measures 2 1/8" high x 1 1/2" base x 1 5/16" top x 1" top ID.
I have no idea what it was for.
This is also one of the many items which were in a keepsake box, which had belonged to my late father or his Uncle...my Great Uncle.
Looks like an old cream jigger.

It's a Restaurant Creamer! Back in the "Ole Days", Cream was served to restaurant patrons in these 1 Ounce containers. The cream had to be refrigerated so they would fill it from the larger fridge container and place it on the saucer beside the cup. Nowadays the cream is UHT'd so there is no need for refrigeration and they bring you a stack of plastic creamers. Many of these had the names of the restaurant in enamel on the sides. RER(BOB)
Jigger is a really old term but they still use the term the jigger is just disposable.

Thanks to all for helping to id this item. I do seem to recall seeing this at a restaurant my mom worked in back in the 50's and maybe 60's.
Mercer your jigger looks more than one that was refilled and reused. They originally came with an inset cardboard cap. Yours appears to have the recess for the cap. Refillable ones didn't have that recess. I believe carnation first brought them out late 1940's or early 50's. The term jigger was originally used for a whiskey shot glass that held 1.5 oz. The term just caught on and everything from ice cream scoops (1910-1914) to egg cups were called jiggers. Back when we were collecting milk bottles these were popular if they had the recess for the cap or were embossed with a name. We used to fill them with Epson salts so it looked like they had milk/cream in them for display.
Very interesting information. I remember the ones without the card board caps being used in restaurants. I don't remember card board caps except on the milk bottles which were delivered to my house by a milkman.
