This ceramic Cassis Quenot match striker may date from the turn of the 20th Century. It is in really great condition, and from the marks on the striking surface, it's clear that it did its job well! There is some crazing in its finish, but that can be expected at this point. It has held up well over time, considering everything!
It is about 3.5 inches (9Cm) tall, and almost 4 inches (9.7Cm) at its widest point.
The striker advertises for a French refresher, Cassis Quenot, which is/was a type of wine drink.
Continuing with the smoking theme, is the RCA Victor suits of cards ashtray set. These light beige beauties appear unused. They have a maker's mark on their reverses, which I am not familiar with…two diamonds with letters inside of each.
Each is about 3.25 inches (8Cm) long by about 2.25 inches (7.2Cm) wide.
If anyone can add to the history of these items, please add your input, which would be truly appreciated..thank you!
