I recently found this and have no clue where it came from or what artist created it. It is magnificent, hopefully the images convey that. It is 11" tall, and 4 1/2" at the widest point. The vase is not fragile, it weighs 2.5 lbs. I now believe this to be Sgraffito vase, a form of ceramic Scratch Art where they literately scratch the black to reveal the white which creates the image in contrasting degrees/layers. At least this is what this looks like to me. It is not signed, which boggles my mind. It has a white base with no markings of any kind.

Please chime in if you have any additional info about this incredible find.

I'll add to the mystery. I recently purchased at auction a similar vase, with sgraffito of a Dragon and Phoenix, again with no markings. https://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/240475-black-and-white-sgraffito-vase
