I am very happy to share my newest vase, a 7" tall green matte dimpled vase decorated by Carl Goldberg. I have always loved Goldberg vases decorated in this style due to the exquisite detail of the flowers. Other companies did decorate vases in a similar manner, but this one happened to be pretty straightforward to ID, since it is very similar to a vase found with the original Carl Goldberg paper label (see images 3 and 4, from glasscollector.net). I do not know if the vase itself was actually made by Goldberg, or if it was a blank that they sourced from another company, as they did both. There is also a single flower bud and leaf on a stem on the back of the vase.
Gorgeous!
Thank you, lostspirits!
Thanks, Lisa! I am so glad you like it. And thanks for the images tip - much better! :)
Being fairly new to art glass, I'm not familiar with Carl Goldberg. What I do know however, is a beautiful vase when I see it and this one is gorgeous! Great find Michele!
Rick
Rick, thanks so much! Goldberg was a contemporary of Harrach, Loetz, etc. and their work consisted of a wide variety of styles. Examples can be seen here on CW, and a very good description of the company and their work can be found in Truitt's Collectible Bohemian Glass, 1880-1940. I personally really love their work. :)
Stunning!!!
