I purchased a music box of stuff from my neighbor and I found this patch inside it. I know that her father-in-law was a Marine and served in the Vietnam war.

I got an identical patch in a Vietnam grouping I bought years ago. I'd also be interested in learning more from the folks here.
OK, I am getting closer. These were Vietnam rocker patch made in country during the war. What else can I learn??
I will pass on what I know. I was in Vietnam Class of 68. Our blankets were camo, light weight and really nice. If you took the blanket to a local they would measure you up and make you a jacket from the blanket. They made their own patches to add color. Mine had an embroidered map of Vietnam on the back and under it the words: When I die I bound to go to heaven, cause I spent my time in hell Vietnam 68. I had a Tiger on the front with my wife's name under it. I didn't buy any of their patches but they had a heck of a big assortment of them. It cost me a blanket, one carton of cigarettes and two boxes of laundry detergent.
So the patch was made by a local during Vietnam and usually the soldier traded a blanket, which was converted to a coat and they offered patches too.
Patches like this were sewn on our GO TO HELL HATS. I still have several but not the hat. They said Viet Nam, go to hell, sorry about that and other sayings and locations over there.
