This I think is a spaniel of some sort , its marked .925 & is 1 3/4" high ,
the base is oval and open & theres a very small hole in his nose, there purpously ..
I cant think what it could've been used for .. initially I thought it was the top for a cane or walking stick but why the hole & oval base ??
the hole is too small for salt /pepper so im thinking maybe a liquid or vapour type thing ???
Has anyone any ideas ????????? ?
Thanks kyratango

Could be missing a piece.
I would say so pops!!
Question is what ??? The opening on the base is roughly 22mm x 16mm
its smooth with a lip ., doesnt look like the top of a bottle & is bigger inside so would be wobbly if on a cane ..
there aren't any signs that anythings missing or broken off ..
i was wondering if its something you'd put in a candlestick when not in use but theyre normally round !!!:-)
Maybe, just maybe. with parts missing.

Pops52 !!!
Your a star !! A big bright one !! ;-)))
I think you hit the nail right on the head with that last link !!
That explains the small hole in the nose , its missing a ring ! and a whistle end , I've never seen one before , wonder why they took it apart ?? Still I cant see any wear or any damage anywhere ..
mystery solved ...
