This old FUKAGAWA NISHIKIDE WARA Biscuit Barrel was found filled with rusting roofing nails in a flea market a few weeks ago. It was extremely filthy but cleaned up quite nicely. I haven't cleaned the silver on the silver rim and handle mounts but they should also clean up nicely. It has three cartouches with chrysanthemums and other flowers, swimming carps and water lilies and it measures 9 1/2" to the top of the handle. As you can see, it does not have the silver lid and as much as I've looked through on-line auctions and other sources, I have been unable to find one. Is there an online site that has replacements for these lids or an Antique replacement store that sells these? The lid would have to measure 3 1/4" in diameter. Thanks, RER(BOB)

Wouldn't that be a great place? Lid replacements...Million dollar idea! Don't think real though, just going to have to call you Lidless Loumanal!

Thanks AmberRose.....I could contribute at least 40 to the cause but none that would fit this Cracker Barrel. By the way, we all know that it would be a popular site and would be a paying proposition; hope someone starts it.....I'm too old and "lidless" like many of the male species around here. RER(BOB)
Thanks inky for the love. BOB

Hello, I have the exact biscuit barrel, it was my grandmothers. My father had an appraisal/ valuation done years ago and was told the silver lid was added years after manufacture, specifically made for it. This may be true but I beleive the silver lids are part of the original item. I think you may have difficulty getting a replacement lid, I have googled this item many times and yours is the only other one I have seen.

Thank you Mandy66! You are right, finding the exact size is extremelly difficult. Someone sent me a lid but it is about 1/4" too big.....i could have it cut down to fit but I am still looking for one without resorting to cutting the one I have. RER(bob)

I just bought this same pot today! You can see what the lid should look like on this ebay listing (above).

You could always buy it I suppose.. But you'd still be down a lid!

Does anyone know its worth? I bought mine for £2!! :)

Retrojess! I don't know how much it is worth....you can see what they are asking for it in the auction. Thanks for showing me what the lid looks like. BOB
