Hi all,
I have some old oil cans like this but they have no tops or bottoms.
The seams were taken apart and not cut.
My question Is can I get these cans redone with a lid and bottom?
Thanks

To me it looks like its just taken apart at the seams...not cut
I have many like this.
I will get another picture of it
Thanks
i wouldnt put that red indian in the garbage
Thanks Dave,
I'm glad someone see some value in these cans.
Take some good picks of the top and bottom edge, and seam ends.
I do not think(from what I see now) they would be good candidates for reliding.
They are not ,however, trash!Get creative,I have even seem some neat jewelry made from old oil cans.Or just simply frame them!
Keep us posted on what you do decide to do with them! And welcome to CW1
Yaa I don't plan on reliding, Rustic frames come to my mind as well.
And I build rustic furniture on the side.
I have lots and lots of these oil cans...all types of brands.
Here is another brand oil can skin I have
I should take another picture of the Red Indian can.
The ends are folded up a bit, however I flattened the Valvoline oil can.
I will pull some more cans out, I have many different brands.
I just posted a Empire State oil can.
I will have more time on Saturday to clean up some of these oil can skins and get some framed.
pic1 "looks" like the top and bottom edges are bent 90 degrees ,that would be like original(without knowing if the complete seem is there,I can't say it could be relided)possibly though!
The other ,NO!too much missing,a custom lid would have to be made ,and it would also be shorter than a normal quart.
I think you still have some neat pieces, and at least you can say you didn't hurt them! Thanks for posting!
50....It was not me that took the cans apart, they came from a man that worked at a gas station all his life and then retired.
