It has a platypus kind of nose profile, serrated edges, a basket weave straw like handle, overall length 12.5 inches. It looks like an oak grain pattern in the wood (with the grain going lengthwise) The widest point is just shy of 4 inches. any ideas?

This item was in the same case but had a physical defect so I passed on the opportunity. This may provide a "nearby" match to get you closer to answering the question at hand.

Its a very intresting tool !! Looks sort of African to me..
aint got a clue really , maybe a wood fish gutter, or some sort of fruit or veg tool :-) I love these type of things & think theyre great talking points!!
