Ive been having a hard time finding the value or year of this stove. of course on the top it says King Stove And Range and No 488. It was given to us many years ago and has always been in the garden as a decorative piece and conversation starter. Ive read much of the history of when the king stove and range company started and it being out of Alabama, but as far as finding this specific stove it has given me quite some trouble!
I believe you will find Montgomery Ward sold these. King was the foundry that made them. If it is a M&G stove it will be listed in their catalog archive as Model K-488.
It'd be nice to get it working again , would look cool in the back of a camper van or log cabin ...;-)
Not sure what the cost would be to get this working again, though I am sure with the energy cost rising it might be a good investment for the future!

here is a link to a PDF doc for AutoStoveWorks which shows many different Laundry Stoves of that ERA. I does show some replacement parts and options available back then. 64 pages.
Here is a little history on the company
"King Hardware purchased the Lizzie Loman Stove Works in Sheffield, Alabama in 1905. The foundry was renamed the King Stove & Range Company. They produced coal & wood heaters, stoves, and ranges.
In 1917, the Martin brothers purchased the King Stove & Range Co. from King Hardware. King Stove & Range Co. then bought the Florence Stove Foundry in Florence, Alabama. They renamed the foundry in Florence the Martin Stove & Range Co. They expanded their line to include hollowware and sad irons."
