This is a beautiful, hand carved table top, was once a coffee table but legs were removed to hang on the wall. It's abut 2 feet by 4 feet, beautiful carved scenery. Appears someone added a hole to the back to add lighting to it. It's been in my aunt's family for 40 plus years. Any info is appreciated. I don't know what kind of wood. The back has leg brackets and a hole with a wire.

      Jewels,

Thank you for that information. From what I researched, so far it looks like Black Forest. Again, many many thanks!

I have one similar to yours that I have been researching. Mine does have a sticker that reads "Guaranteed Handcrafted in the Black Forest" I am pretty sure is was brought here from Germany by someone who was stationed there in the service. Mine does not have the legs or the glass. I think I will hang mine rather than put legs on it.

Hi, I purchased a hand carved wood under glass coffee table from the Black Forest back in 1985. Mine is somewhat unique it has an adjustable height by small crank on side. I still have its receipt. I was in 3rd Armored Division (Army)
