I have written previously about this machine, see 127 and 149 Non Singer Machines, an additionad thought it was time to put up some pictures. I saved the machine from th local tip and after some cleaning up it works well.
You will see it does not have the original base or cover and as it has no name I cannot tell where it came from,- I am in England. I assume it is a
Japanese or possibly German clone of a Singer 27 or 28 but it has an additional reversing lever next to the winder and that's really useful. It has the ref. number 1865290.
The paint is in reasonably good condition and there is so little chrome on it that I wonder if it did have chrome in the usual places. It also has several unused bosses on the top of the body which I have tried to photograph and I wonder if any one knows what they are for. It works well and I may or may not sell it as I have a much cleaner Singer 66 but it doesn't have that useful reverser.
Sorry about the typos!!
Good job on cleaning it up!
Lovely enamel work.
Definitely German - Clemens Muller machine I would say - check under it and on the bobbin winder for CM :) Japanese didn't copy the Singer 27. Not the original base for this machine.
