I have a few pieces of Carnival glass, mostly Amber Etched. I think these are really special because there is a tadpole enclosed in the bottom half. I really hope you can see it. ,what do you think?

interesting inclusion; does look like a tadpole : ) tho' I'm only seeing amber glass with no carnival finish. Looks like Federal's Madrid pattern that was reproduced by Indiana Glass.

Thank you TallCakes! I will recheck my research. I am very open to learning more since I am a novice. The tadpole is encased there and you can feel nothing on each side.

TallCakes is correct - found one on etsy. I am confused between carnival and depression?????

some depression glass was produced with carnival finishes, which is an iridescent finish applied to the glass.

How can the tadpole be explained? : )

Those look like the original Madrid pattern bu Federal made in the 1930s. The repros have ridges on the inside where the candle goes and the originals are smooth inside.
And yes I see the tadpole. Is there resin inside the candle holder or is that molded into the original glass?

Looks like it is right in the glass.

I would change it to glassware>depression glass.

Send a photo to the federal glass museum and see what they say! :)

Appears to be a manufacturing flaw in the glass batch, possibly something to do with the colorant. I have an amber Madrid plate that has a very similar defect, but it is circular.

Carnival glass has a shiny festive finish. I have seen it mostly in peach tones, occasionally in odd greens.
