This is another of my weekend finds. It is a rather large brooch, about 3 1/2 inches and a bit over 12 grams of silver. I cleaned it a bit but left some of the patina to show the age and character.
Based on the size and design of the brooch I would date it to the late 40's or early 50's.
Thanks for looking:)
Thank you, Jewels:)

nutsabotas6, thanks so much for your nice comment. I have a lot of patience. I look, and check, and compare...
But you are correct - it's not easy to find nice items nowadays unless you are prepared to pay a lot. Even at my usual sources, prices are becoming unreasonable. Because I have a self-imposed budget, I try very hard to buy only bargains unless I really, really like something. I go to second-hand stores, church sales, auctions (very seldom, because I got carried away and paid too much), and antique malls. But - like you said - sometimes I don't find anything for a long time, however, searching is still fun:)
Hi, I found the hallmark on illusionsjewels.com on Lang. There's a photo of the same hallmark. It sais 1949-1977. I think you're right about the date, 50's. Lovely!
Thanks so much, Elisabethan. I must admit, I have no patience looking up hallmarks. They are all small and look the same to me :)
