I guess I do not know much about this set to tell. It is a beautiful marked Sterling Silver necklace with matching bracelet. Decorated with a couple of Doves. The necklace has three fringes. Dated from the 50s / 60s.
A heavy set, very beautiful in my opinion.

Agram, do you have an idea about the origin of this? Could you email me a close up of the "sterling" mark as well as of the clasp of the bracelet? I´m searching for info for you.

Very nice! And actually looks like a true 'rare' item, which you really don't see anymore, you know what I mean right?! Beautiful!

Agram, the doves, the tecniques of the wire as well as other details on this bracelet and necklace tells me this is either from Mexico or inspired by mexican silversmiths like Matilde Poulat. If you Google her name and "dove necklace" or something like that you will see what I mean. I enclose a link to an exampel. I haven't found one the same as yours but the doves were frecently used in mexican silver jewelry and I have also seen this type of wirework before. Look into this lead.

Hello Elisabethan, sorry for the delay in answering. But there are two marks on the chain and bracelet. One for 925 and one: Made in ...... Greece.
That's all I know about it and that it's a very nice set. Thanks for all you thinking with me about this set.

Elisabethan, I understand you completely. This also happens to me regularly. The area on jewelry is so extensive. Different time periods, styles, materials, fashion and so on, probably every collector iare often wrong including me . This happens even professionals. To give just some examples; My enameled pendant on silver chain was sold as French, after my own research with help from the collectors here on CW, I came to the conclusion that it was made in Vienna by George Adam Scheid, very different and there more precious than presupposed. The same happens with my enameled brooch with flowers even the professional saleswoman did not know what she exactly sold not even the time period. This turned out to be a very old brooch set in Iron wirework cud steel dated end 18s century early 19's and that's why I could buy it very very cheap far under the real valid price ! As we say here: "Every disadvantage has its advantage"
You see it happens to us all, so please do not be discouraged, we also learn from here and each other.
So the final conclusion: I am very pleased with your help to find the correct data and all your interest and loving!
