    This item is a Chinese Snuff Bottle the cork inside is leather looking and the detail is great with a grasshopper and leaves and pods on each side but I do not know what the material is.........I have taken it to several Antique Shops and they don't know either, please help me if you know what the snuff bottle is made of, thanks and Blessings Loretta

      There are a couple of articles written about these bottles on this site. Search snuff bottles. Very interesting. Apparently, there are a lot of fakes, so I wouldn't know about your bottle, but it does look cool! Best to you!

      Hi Treasure4everyone, welcome to CW!
      Your snuff bottle seems to be a quality item, but to be sure it is not resin, you may try the red hot pin poke in a hidden part...
      Ivory won't melt under the poke!

      PatSea, I'm sorry, but rhino horn is NOT a bone!
      Genuine would certainly not encountered in number...
      Identification would be ivory vs resin.
