Clearly this is the pretty and prettier corner.
What a delightful view!
you reckon though she would have straightened up the lamp shade.....I hope Dee and Daren arent popping up next weekend now theyve not got much on...I'll have to dust!
Hi Nuts.
Thanks for the thought.
Yes this is my real name, married.
I am ok. Had a few challenges of late.
On a trial drug atm. No sure how long I can tolerate it as had some difficult side effects.
How are you going with your lot?
Oh Anne these look so pretty. They must cheer you up every morning :)
every single day Fran! especially the Mt Washington for $16!....lol
leahpia..lol..hi there..yes in the month of July went mad...but as you know Ive had to hault my expenditure as we've had to help Josephs grandmother..poor thing...it's so hard when they get old and have to rely on a grandson who's 12,000 miles away rather than her 6 children who live in the same county! But we love her to bits and when we got the call I said to hubby just swend her what she needs...
Its my birthday next month so hopefully yours and also another chap I buy from in here might be able to push through.
How have you been? Miss hearing from you all.
I think I've bought one vase in 2 months and that was the green one that I couldnt resist as I've not come across many. Would love to get my hands on some green Loetz tango but not in the foreseeable future.....
I don't post much in here. Just decided to update my latest photos. When I consider that I really only started collecting Czech/Bohemian glass in March, I've been very fortunte to get where I am today.
I'm sure you appreciate what I mean as I know you have an incredible collection but there is nothing as rewarding as my current set up. Each day I come in to what was the China room, similar to JackieO's "plate room" in the White House! Now its a glass room...but I get so much joy out of my little world. Isn't that what it's all about?
Cheers
Anne
Me again. Just been pondering a lot lately as some asked me which item comes close to be a cherished piece. A favourite if you will. I find when collecting you tend to go in waves. New items that arrive seem to get front row for a while. There are of course definitions such as hardent to find, best bargain, best rip off, you didn't know what you were buying at the time but hey, who needs food for four weeks! I find my first picture holds some of those. Probably my best buy of my last solid month of purchasing was the Mt Washing diamond blue. I love their diamond and herringbone pattern and hell yes, Fenton made some too. But for $16 Aussie dollars I wasn't going to beat the seller down. And I gave her the chance to research but nope, she had no idea, just wanted rid of her grandmothers tat so who was I to push the point! We've all got stories like this . The table also holds a pretty little blue rise bowl with gorgeous applied flower and stem. $15 was that one? Or the plain blue satin rose bowl that the lady was so kind to me and loved me being patient whilst she had some hospital stuff to deal with for a few months sent me out the blue mica, little one with silver flecks.so in total $20 for both.
It's not the money though, it's the beauty I cherish when I sit here every day. Reflect on life and admire things that are way prettier than some of the rubbish you have to deal with. Again Anne. Stop craping on! But I really would love to hear and see other ppls stories if you'll stop and stay awhile ... :) Anne xx
