My Granddad George Robert Stanley Born 1881 Fulham London
Regular Soldier 16th Queens Lancer Served Boar War 1901.
Served his time joined reserve Called up 14th November 1914
Enlisted Welsh horse Yeomanry Embarked Mediterranean force
Landed Suvla Bay Gallipoli October 1915 fought the Turks.
Then to Egypt then palestine Fought in desert campaign
In March 1917 his unit become 25th Battalion
Royal Welsh Fusiliers part of 74th [Yeomanry Division]
Transferred to 231st Brigade Trench Mortar Battery
In july 1917,September 1918 Posted to France
October sent on leave to Britain while at home 18 October
Admitted to Mile End Military Hospital died 12th November
1918 day after war ended. Age 37.

Grandad.As they only sent a small number Still had lances last time used, modern rifles saw to that.and Boars Accurate shooting.
