      Looks like you found an antique while searching for antiques. Does it have inserts. Can you post pictures of the inside? You can post 4 pictures per post.

      When did they stop creating trunks like this? And im picking it up today so ill post more pics later but it was 20 bucks but ot didnt have much backgroind on it.

      This style and type of trunk began to mark the end of the halcyon days of the traveling trunk. Lighter suitcases where coming into vogue and of course the dawn of air travel was breaking. After the 30's to 40's trunks began to be for storage only made mostly of metal or vulcanized fiber and the pine bodies ones with the nice hardwood slats began to abate. Then came the ubiquitous blue trunks that are still available today...
