My latest Rindskopf is an 8" tall columnar vase in a golden green 'snakeskin' pattern. I have come across the shape before in Rindskopf's green wave decor, and the bottom of this vase also has the green spotting in the glass that is often seen at the bottom of Rindskopf's Pepita decor vases. Kralik made a similar 'snakeskin' decor, but it is a bit different from this one - examples I have seen appear to be more highly iridescent, and the texture of the snakeskin pattern is not as even as that seen on Rindskopf examples.
Great addition Michelle. I thought this was referred to as Twisted Rib? Kralik did one as well as Rindskopf.
Thanks so much, Lisa!
Hi Mac! I have seen the Twisted Rib decor, and I am leaning more towards the Snakeskin on this one - unfortunately, my pictures don't seem to show the vertical raised lines on the vase that cross the spiraling rib very well - in person, the snakeskin-like texture is a lot more obvious. I will try again in different light - I'd love to know your opinion with better photos. Thanks! :)
Update: I added a fourth photo, and Mac & I compared a twisted rib vase of his with mine, and the textures are different. While the texture on my vase isn't as prominent as some of the other snakeskin vases I have seen, but it does have the vertical ribbed texture against the spiral pattern seen in the snakeskin decor. Perhaps mine is a more subtle snakeskin variation? :)
