I found this guy at a flea market and I imagine it dates from the 1970s. It's brass (the round portion is about 2 inches in diameter) and marked with © Phila House on the back. I found other buckles (one is a nice Liberty Bell one) that seemed to be from the same maker online, but I was wondering if anyone could point me towards a place to look for more information. I tried Googling Phila House and Philadelphia House, but it mostly just turned up info on a hostel. Any ideas?
Looks like a boot or shoe scrapper , what is size of it ?
Manikin,
I think it's a belt buckle. The round portion is about 2 inches in diameter.
Oh I could not tell size and missed it in description :-( If it were larger it would make sense that is was a scrapper though even by the saying on it . Thanks for letting me know :-))
Manikin,
I edited the description to include the size when your questipn reminded me that I had omitted that info.
oh good then I am not blind yet :-) Thanks for letting me know you edited it after I wrote scrapper :-) does it have a hook on back side ?
Manikin,
I does have a hook on the back. Fits nicely on a belt.
I saw a few on ebay they say dating 70's similar to your belt buckle . Nothing yet on history of company .
Manikin,
I saw those and some other metal work from the company, but nothing more.
