Hello, I was given this vanity and would like to know if anyone can help with the time frame it's from? It looks like Bury wood but it's a veneer.
Also it has dovetail drawers and is a very heavy and solid piece of furniture.
I like this piece especially because of the wood pattern on it.
And I want to know if it is possible to repair the corners and the edges shown in the last photo.
    Thank you for any info.

Nice. I wouldn't call it antique-- 2nd quarter 20th century.

You can buy replacement veneer-- the hard part/ work is color matching the older pieces.

The accepted standard for antique furniture is 100 years of age.

I tend to agree with it being slightly pre or during WWII. The veneer can be replaced and if you can't match the color go for something a little lighter in color. A good man with a heat gun can darken it up. Make sure you have some scrap to do test work with.

Scottvez, read the next sentence. 100 years of age and in it's original unaltered condition. Now days people call anything older than they are an antique. Gotta love it.

Yep-- agree but it doesn't make it correct!

Thank you all for your info. Is this considered bury wood veneer? I'm thinking it could be.
Thank you again for you help.

The top is BURL wood veneer.

Just to clarify the burl is a round growth on the tree that yields this type of wood/ veneer. It is found on a variety of trees-- maple, oak, redwood, etc....

Most certainly a burl design veneer and who ever applied it did one heck of a job matching it.
