I have this mirror from my grandparents, the mirror glass itself has a stamp that says MMA Jamestown, NY Dec 16 1840
There is another word but because of the convex, the first letter G and the last letter either A, H, or P show up. the frame I think is a composite over wood, which may be 1950's, but I'm not sure. most of the frame is wood, but some of the decoration looks like a plaster material. (A few pieces have broken) I cant seem to find another like this with this type of eagle on it. Any help would be appreciated! thank you!

I am definitely keeping this! I remember it hanging in my grandparents home when I was a kid. So the glass mirror itself is probably from 1840, and the frame is from a later time is what I am thinking. I am still curious to find out more, since, like I said, I haven't seen a frame like this, all are close to what you said (PhilDavidAlexanderMorris) "Usually the eagle is much more pronounced in wider turned neck and larger wings of the 1840's variety." Thanks for your input!
