This is way cool! Is it leather? and what is the name on the top of it? Can you get your loop out and let me know all that you see there? that number you put for a date looks like 19-1743 to me and may be the number of the item.

I'd love to know what it says :) Thanks Jewels

Hi share! Thank you! It is made from some kind of bark, I believe. One spot says Marilyn, another says marguerite, and it is dated April 19, 1943.

      Love it...

I have 3 little Teepee made the same way. Made of Birch Bark. Quite popular souvenir gifts too. Some are marked, some are not. I remembering us getting some when we were kids (around 1967) from a Park we visited.

      These are always Neat collectibles!!

These were also sold as a kit for boy and girl scouts to build. I made them in the 1950's and they had been around for some time back then. When we built them they had to be marked with a name so it was returned to the owner and also the date to show you earned the merit badge at the proper time. You had to turn it in to be inspected then it went on display for everyone to see when badges were given out. When that was over your item was returned to you.
