Little black cats figurines from the 40's, 50's?- I have no idea. Looks like little cat's tail has been broken and glued. the tall kitty has a letter opener tail that has been "sharpened" or repaired, and needs repainted. You can put posies in the little cat. Made in Germany. Not worth much, but so cute! I welcome any input- Thanks!
These both have a Goebel mark, although different eras - Goebel is the same maker that makes the Hummel figurines.
They are worth more than "not much" but I cannot say the value here.
Oh Thanks aghcollect. it's nice to hear from smart people like you, so I can learn so much more about everything in general, and my own collections, too. Great!
The long tail one is circa 1950's and the shorter one is circa 1960-1972.
That explains why the glaze is faded and duller on the older one, and also there is some glaze chipped off in spots. Thanks again, aghcollect.
I love these, they are so cool! It seems a lot of people really love black cat figurines and items, especially around Halloween. :)
Let's keep the Halloween stuff coming. I like it.
These made me smile while I was learning something. Great post
