I picked up this display rack at an antique store a while back. It was priced reasonably already but I made an offer anyway and got it. At first I thought it was a newspaper rack since Coke made just about anything for everything, then I noticed the bottle imprints. All shelves fold down to allow the bottles to be stacked, then as they are taken they fold up to reveal a saying. That is my thought on how it worked. It kind of has permission to be a low hung sign. It seems to fit the 10 and 12 ounce bottles best. I think even when I do accumulate the embossed versions of those bottles I will still display it the same for space reasons. It is also imprinted on the wire like a few other display racks I have seen. Although Its simple it seems to be one of my favorites.
I've never seen one of these. Great looking piece. Could be nice for displaying Coca-Cola smalls or even carriers. Bottles for sure. I've acquired about 100 old hobbleskirts off eBay over the years for display and on average paid approx $1.75 ea delivered in excellent condition (a few duds mixed in).
I havnt seen one either yet. I usually have trouble finding bottles that cheap on ebay. Usually the swap meet is where I have to get my dollar bottles. Thanks, Nobucks.
