She is a character face ! :-) Not a dolly face . Very nice doll.
The Schoenau & Hoffmeister porcelain factory, also known as Porzellanfabrik Burggrub, was located in Burggrub, Germany . They sold doll heads to other companies .

Why don't I see the star and S H marks on this doll?
Is she a rare hard to find mold number?
No not rare . The markings were just one of a few they used . The S H you refer to is for Schoenau & Hoffmeister not Simon Halbig . Depending on who they sold doll heads to what mark was used and time frame . She is lovely !
Broke head but marked like yours :-) Not all 169's had the PB and SH mark .

The Schoenau & Hoffmeister porcelain factory, also known as Porzellanfabrik Burggrub, was located in Burggrub, Germany and was founded by Arthur Schoenau and Carl Hoffmeister in 1901. By 1907 the two partners were in disagreement to the type of porcelain heads for their dolls. Hoffmeister insisted on producing shoulder head dolls, while Schoenau wanted to produce socket head dolls. Unable to resolve there differences Carl Hoffmeister left and Arthur Schoenau became the sole owner.
