Warburg's Tincture Bottles

This bottle and about a dozen others were all dug together in a store basement in Wilmington ,North Carolina. All the bottles had been opened. Wilmington had alot of bouts with Malaria back in the 1860's. Roland Sparks has a great site dedicated to Warburg's Tincture. I talked to Roland thru email. He has never seen these particular bottles and has only seen them described in literature he has. He was very excited to finally see pictures of them. Of the several collector's I've spoke to in England none have seen these before even though they are from England. Warburg's Tincture was proclaimed the official medicine in Austria. These bottles were corked and a metal seal encased the neck and top of the bottle. These metal caps were stamped in German to reflect the importance Austria gave this medicine. Zum Ziele Beharren (to insist on objectives) was stamped on the cap. Also a coat of arms and under that Bettes Patent Capsule. William Bettes had a patent for the metal used to encase the top of the bottle. Two of the bottles still had the metal cap mostly intact and after about a week or two of careful cleaning I was able to make out most of the writing on the cap.
