This is an Early Loetz Marmoriertes Which I would like to call Pink/ Blue Swirl decor. I know it does not have an official name yet. This has a wonderful etched neck. Which I believe is in the Greek Key design. This is my first Loetz Satin decor and which I have been told is uncommon. Especially in this colour. This beauty stands about 8" tall and is a wonderful addition to my collection ofLoetz Marmoriertes. This is an early Christmas present from a good friend.

Special thanks to Warren for allowing me to acquire one of his treasures. Thank you!!

I have an almost identical Loetz Marmoriertes vase, but it's 10" tall.

I posted that article two years ago, and it does have a typo- I meant fourth piece from the left (JH), and I have done a fair bit of research in the two years since I posted. The pink and blue are generally accepted to be Loetz these days. I have edited the article.

Hello, Lisa- just so we're crystal clear on this - I never said, nor implied, that Lee's vase was the same shape (or decor) as mine (nor did she). It clearly is not.

This is Lee's posting, and I don't presume to be her editor, but if she wanted to use the word "possible" or "attributed" that would be fine with me. Waiting for the line drawing to match may take some time. Since the first volumes were published in 1989, the Series I patterns available only represent about 5% of the total output. There are books in the works that will preserve the remaining patterns (that still exist), but those may take several years to publish. Shape alone is nothing more than a clue. I could provide dozens of examples of confirmed Loetz pieces for which no paper pattern is available.

On Loetz.com, there are no examples under onyx that match Lee's vase, because Lee's vase is not "Onyx". It is a variation of marmoriertes glass that has not been documented yet (by either maker or decor).

Lisa, I am totally happy with this Loetz vase. Thank you for your concern.
