Embroidered City of Glasgow coat of arms. 20" by 25" very finely embroidered. I kept passing this (on the bus) in the window of a shop in glasgow around 1986, eventually calling from work to purchase. It is signed and dated by Helen Darling Kew, 1917. I was told the embroidery was done for the city's Lord Provest by his niece on him taking up the position.
It features the city's patron saint, St Mungo overseeing the coat of arms and the city's motto along the bottom, Let Glasgow Flourish.
