I was told this was a store display. I have never been able to find anything online like it. He is about 3 feet tall and has the Coca-Cola logo on his belt. I really would like to know if that is what the santa was used for. I am sure if he was a display for stores - there would be around.
This is really cool! I cannot help authentic him, but just wanted to say I love it!
I love him too, just wish I knew more about it. I have had him for at least 20 years, so I don't even know how old he is.
The Santa looks 50's maybe 60's in my opinion. Maybe you could search coke logos and see if there is a lead with that--like how the logo has changed over the years. I collect old Santas myself, here is my collection: http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/133219-vintage-santa-collection
It looks like coca cola unveiled that logo in 1969 and was used until 1987, so if the belt is authentic to the Santa, you can narrow down his age. My guess is that he is closer to the earlier date, but just a guess on my part : )
Anything new with your santa?
Not really. Someone said they thought that maybe the belt and logo were added.
Hi there, okay, is the logo part of the belt attached to the black part? Or does it seem separate, like a sticker?

I'll be dad gummed. Soda pop series promotional items, it appears. Good detective work Jewels. fortapache's Santa has a 7up logo that looks to be 1980's, so stands to reason this one is from the same period. Those were the days!

Hi daddy, nice commercial! So 1980's on the santa, okay! Solved :)
Maker is Harold Gale, Co. I think age is an open question. Could be 70's.

Ahh okay
OK too weird, this just popped up on eBay. Yep, mystery solved.

Ahhh yes!
He is just like my 7up Santa which we had in our grocery store in 1970.
Hmmm a Harold Gayle Santa, I shall have to amend my description.
oops make that 1971.
Thank you everyone who helped me find out more about this Santa!
Glad you were able to get an answer Angie! He's a very nice santa!
