Hi all,
I recently acquired this gorgeous Chinese card game set, and bone counters. After realising the game is mahjong, and some research on the flag depicted (first of republic of China) I've narrowed the age down to between 1912-28. Not sure if the counters are original to the game, but they were purchased in the same bulk lot of items.
I have found barely any mahjong sets in card form online, has anyone else?

This is great!!
Hi, I have only seen the tiles, this is really great!
Yes, I have a while back. In fact, I found so many then all it did was confuse me because I couldn't find one like I had!
I will quickly look for you and put a link here, but if I don't find it, just look it up by google search as "vintage mah jong set" there should be more than you'd like to see. You will then have to go thru them all to find yours.
Here's a good one. Don't know why it won't highlight? You could also add the word Chinese to your search. I didn't but be ready to spend some time on your search. This site below tells you how to tell what the tiles are made of, Ivory or bakelite...it's hard to tell, but are the playing pieces you have paper??? They look so thin on my computer. The counters look too white to be ivory, but I can't tell. Good luck!

Yes, they are cards, I've seen a mazillion 'tile' sets but very few card!
I love those Ava. I have a partial set of those and yours is a partial set and you have a couple of the cards I am missing. I would love to buy yours so its a complete set, are they for sale? Lajohni@aol.com
