Hello! Can anyone tell me about my CocaCola sign? It is large 4' x 10' and I believe it may be from the 1940s. The frame is wood, and I believe the sign itself is masonite, or some wood product, but I'm not sure. There is some lettering in the bottom corner the seems to read AM 4-4. Any information and approximate value would be much appreciated. It is not for sale, I just want to learn more about it. Thank you!
Thank you, everyone for your comments! I do appreciate learning more about it. I would welcome additional input as well from others.
Anybody know what the AM 4-4 means?
The sign is not for sale, I'm just trying to learn more about it :)
Great looking sign and in good shape!
AM 4-4 is the maker's production code. Allen-Morrison Sign Co., April 1944. Masonite was used instead of metal because of the war effort. I have a smaller version of your big, beautiful sign. Send me an e-mail at daveq@wowway.com and I'll send you back an image of your sign out of a period salesman book.

Hey Daddy_Nobucks , thanks for your info about the AM numbers. I have another Coke sign that reads AM 1-50. Based on what your saying about AM 4-4, I'm now guessing, It's January 1950? Thank you for sharing!
That thing is gorgeous, I dont care how big it is I would be making room for one like that.
she's a beaut! these are going to be the signs to hang on to , as the market is soft right now, but people are gravitating to the large "Statement" pieces, especially restaurant's and designer s.
Ray's on the money for now, but this one is like an Apple share in 1980!
Cheers! !
