What an awesome thing to have of your grandmothers :)
Thanks, I just found out she is a rare 13" googly eyed j.d.k doll and is being sold on another site for $7,000. I wish i could tell gma. I'll never sell her.
She has original shoes, moccasins, ice skates, out fits, socks, glasses. Hand made quilt, blankets, gloves, wallet and all in a custom pine box probably made by my great grandpa.
Oh wow! I wouldn't sell either, too special! Sometime maybe post the accessories as well, would love to see them : )
She is a true treasure ! Wow Grandma left you a rare doll , please tell me that is not a crack on side of her face . JDK is the mark for Johann Daniel Kestner Jr. (JDK) of Waltershausen, Thuringia, Germany the dolls are often just called Kestner dolls . Can you take a photo of her markings on neck ?
Yes there is a crack on fore head and rt cheek from her chid hood. Ill take more pics
That is sad it is broke :-( she has lost a lot of value but sentimental value you can't put a price on :-)) I will await new photo's and be careful as crack could extend ok.
A good doll hospital should be able to take head off and stabilize crack .
The cracks have been there for more than 50 years and are very stable. Her body is almost perfect. Thanks for feed back
