I inherited 6 red and 6 white plates as shown. They are Royal Worcester bone china made in England. Does anyone have any information about this pattern?

Thanks. The gold is raised and as a child I was told it is real gold but I don't know if that is true. They were my grandparents' and were attained before 1960.

Hi pj, looks like it might be the embassy pattern?
    4. Jewels Jewels, 10 years ago
Lj, my iPad changed it :)

Thanks Jewels. They are very similar to the Embassy pattern but not exactly the same as the pictures I saw online. Maybe the pattern changed over the years? Does anyone know?

Hi lj, can you add a pic of the marking on the back? Maybe we can pinpoint the date and get a lead

I posted the marking on the back. There seems to be a stamping into the china, but only on some of the plates. It's hard to make out but perhaps W4 on the first line and the second line ends in 8 but the first number/letter is not clear. I appreciate the help.

As you see here, they had a very complicated system for dating with letters and dots! Yours doesn't have the letter or dots as shown here, but you say that there is an impression with a w4 and another letter and 8?

Another reference, It states no date code from 1942-1948, which is what yours looks like, but based on that impression of w4, it would seem to indicate 1954

Jewels, you could be right about the year. The marking is not near the center, it's at 4:00. There is no ink on the impression. I did see the white ones end in 8 and the red ones in 6. Thanks for taking an interest and helping.

Oh no problem, okay, maybe w4 is 1954 and other impression in the color/pattern code, and I'm not finding exactly what you have here. Your pattern seems to be raised up a bit with the gold

I know! On that second link, for the museum, there is an email address, maybe email them your pics and I bet they know immediately

Jewels, Thanks for the idea. I will give it a try. LJ
