This is an original and old, about 40 years, aguayo. I take the pictures with natural light, so that the precious motifs can be seen in detail. This Andean Manta cloth measuring approximately 33" x 36" superb weaving is unsed mainly by the Aymara aborigin ladies to carry their babies hanging from ther shoulders. An aymara woman that is working here in Cordoba as a domestic worker, wanted to sell it to Dorita in 70 U$, no less. Dorita, our favorite seller and friend, said it was very expensive, so we bought it directly to the woman. Sergio did not agree completely but I was decided because now a days it is dificult to see a woven piece so well done. The motifs have a meaning each one. The work is hard, you can see it in this site

The wool was hand made and died. It is so crowded the weaves that the win can not pass through it, it is not rough to the hand thouch and it is not heavy. I use it in an armchair of my kitchen, last picture. The manta is intact and of a superior quality, compare with the one here
