LOUMANAL
(436 items)
I need help in identifying the maker of this Elegant Slender ART NOUVEAU style Crystal Vase. It has the most beautiful Deep Cuttings of Fruits & Leaves & Vines and has fine panels that start at the base and go all the way up to the rim . It measures 13 7/8" tall, has a 4 1/4" base and a 3 1/2" rim. The leaves are intricately carved and you can feel that they are deeply cut into the crystal. It has a slightly concave underbase and a wide flat under-rim that has a lot of age wear. There are no mold marks, the glass is not leaded and there are no watermarks or other markings. When I first saw it, I thought of fine American Glasshouses but it could certainly be from a European Source. Have you seen this cutting before or do you recognize the shape as being from a glasshouse that you know. Any help appreciated. Thanks, RER(BOB)

Fabulous!!!! size LOUMANAL and really lovely engraving, sorry can't help.. just love it!...:-)
Inky, it's amazing how easy it is to do etchings. Fun too. I did the etchings for the queen of The Netherlands on a Baccarat v'ass some years ago. I did the etchings using an air nozzle & coffee can at a local garage & people couldn't believe the quality & detail. I think you would love it! Easy & no equip. to speak of. Masking tape, an artist, sand, exacto knife & a compressor. Does beautiful detailed work.
I hear you are god at what ever you put your hand too Blunder!!...:-)
That & other free options Inky. Best to take advantage while the options are still operational. I would much better give you a hand than myself. Bob's a good friend but will be glad to see him leave Wed. (that's Thurs. to you). Have to admit, the brownies are great! Yeah, yeah staff. "Not fb". Beautiful etching on this v'ass, OK?
Just got a strange message from Penny (inky) asking me to contact you & tell you that she has a 3 3/4" biscuit barrel lid that might fit yours if you want it. Does that make sense? Then says she will wait to see what I find out.(?). My email is on my profile if you can't get her direct. ?????
Lou, to be honest, my visiting friend just tied me down & forced me to to eat a hash brownie! LOL!! Just go to Penny's profile and reply on her latest poste. Not a good time!
Milles Merci David! J'admire beaucoup tes connaissances et tes gouts. Robert
Paris 1925 just sent me the documentation with photo attachment of this vase. It was made in 1909 by Baccarat and shown at the "Grands Magasins du Louvre" a Parisian Retail Store, at the time. Apparently, Baccarat only started signing their pieces after 1936....before that, they simply used paper labels. The example shown in the document had gold decoration in the fruits. It's possible mine had the same fruit decoration and it is now worn or that it was made without. The cuttings are of the PLANER TREE (Planera aquatica); a small-leaved North American tree of the elm family with an oval ribbed fruit. RER(BOB)
J'ai corrige mon texte. Je ne connaissais pas ce magasin de Paris. Robert
Thank you paris1925 (David) Mystery is Solved! Did you see my other French Vase by the Cristalleries de Nancy that I posted a few years ago?. Robert
