I bought this clock last week and I know that it has an E.Ingraham movement stamped March 1897. Is this an Ingraham case? I saw one online that had an almost identical case but it was made by the American clock co. I'd really like to know more about it, the model name and whether it used to have stenciling on the door glass or not.
I found a very similar clock on the Antique Clocks Identification and Price Guide website. https://www.antiqueclockspriceguide.com/clockdetails.php?clockid=40197
Perhaps that is the one you were referring to. I didn't find this model in Tran Duy Ly's reference on Ingraham Clocks & Watches, but the volume is not very extensive. As you probably already know, the American Clock Co. was not a manufacturer, but rather more of a dealer contracting with New England Manufacturers. It's possible that they simply cased your Ingraham Movement and that everything is original. Without seeing another example or an American Clock Co. catalog it will be difficult to tell what type of stencil, if any, the clock originally had. I would suspect that there was some type of decorative pattern on the glass tablet though. Good luck with your research.
Thank You for your help!
