You can find sets such as this being sold for next to nothing all over France, mostly in this colour as it was very popular in the thirties. What drew me to this one however was the stopper and the tray......you rarely find the tray.
The glass is very thin and the sides of both glasses and decanter are 'panelled' making photographing them a nightmare, for me at least. There would have been six glasses originally, and of course there are some chips.
There are no marks and I suspect that these were common household items in the thirties, made by many companies. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Same apology for lateness, Karen. Sad I agree but almost inevitable....... I do understand it however as we lived there for twelve years.
I see the stopper as a 'coolie hat'.......can't help myself!
Marquot - at least I think (see my version). We could get them together! Maybe!
Thank you, Ian,......glad your proof validated my experience :-)
Maybe we could, Ian.

Decanters are cheap nowadays as they are practically dead as a useful item. People just keep their booze in the original bottle. Good news if you want to collect them as most people selling on ebay can't tell the different between dross and design classics. It doesn't matter if yours is not a quality set, it is punching its weight as pure art deco.
I would buy more stuff like this, but my wife would kill me. She knows I can buy quality things for the same price, and I have so much stuff. All the lower quality things I have are about 150 years old. There is really cool mass production stuff from the 30s and 50s, I would love to buy, but wouldn't survive the experience.
Hi, lovedecanters, This is not my area of collecting and they're destined for ebay.....Art Deco Home. I'd better warn you when to avoid ebay.....I wouldn't want your death on my conscience!
I have the room.....but it's already taken :-)
