This is an original stone lithograph window card for Newmann The Great, from my private collection of Magic posters ca.1920. Printed by Standard ST. Paul.

Simply a great striking image that depicts a portrait of Newmann with electricity shooting out of two hands above his head, symbolizing his mentalist powers! This window card came from the Newmann estate.

C.A. Newmann(November 28, 1880 - December 29, 1952), also known as Newmann the Great, was a hypnotist and pioneer mentalist. Newmann was born during the pioneer days when Indian uprisings, bank robberies and highway holdups were frequent occurrences. By the age of 13, Newmann The Boy Wonder was presenting an hypnotic and mind-reading show.

For many years he limited the majority of his performances to the Northern Middle Western States, returning to the same cities year after year. For many summer seasons he gave his performances in his own tent. Newmann was primarily a mentalist who specializes in unusual, high class mental presentations, although he also presents a few illusions, such as the Levitation, The Spirit Paintings, and similar effects, in connection with his regular program. However, for over 35 years his program was composed only of Hypnotic and Mind Reading effects. He also featured the "Blindfold Drive", an amazing task that allowed him to drive an automobile to a specific destination while being blindfolded!

      Girls,

I am thrilled you enjoy this poster, it is one of my favorites as well and took me 3 years to finally locate one. Yes, your comments are always appreciated and I never get upset when they are posted, good or bad. I have met a few collectors in person from CW and always looking to meet more.

This is an open invitation for ANYONE here on CW that would like to entertain themselves with a night of Magic at the Castle. Contact me anytime fellow collectors.

while not as lovely as Jewels and Virginia, I can say that ZGuy is awesome to hang out with and see the Castle. And such a teacher of this amazing and underappreciated art form.

I collect Circus posters as well valentino97, a few of them are posted here in my CW collection and yes I bought a few packs of the Circus poster stamps from the USPS. I always like to use cool stamps as well, that's why I buy a few packs so I have extras to use for a bit.

They are in deed wonderful, I have not been to the museum but do know about it. I would love to go sometime! There are a few Magic museums as well around the country that are truly amazing! Especially David Copperfield's private museum that houses Houdini's original Water Torture Cell.
    19. zguy2112 zguy2112, 10 years ago
valentino97, I am sorry to say that Copperfield's Magic museum is truly private. He only admits students of Magic and Magic historians into his museum. It is located in an undisclosed warehouse in the Nevada desert. As far as Magic museums open to the public there is The American Museum of Magic located in Marshall, Michigan that you can visit or go online and find some that may be closer to your home.
