This was bought at an antique store I wanted something like this phone to hang in the home theater room. It looked like something you would see in one of the very old movies, which I collect as well. I know that it will get many comments so I need to know what I have. I think that it is a converted railroad intercom but from what year. And Who made it as there is no writing on it.

Your intercom looks to be made in Europe, not sure of the date, but around 1912

Does anyone have any idea what voltage that these old phones ran on. I assume that they used aDC voltage, running on batteries as the one I have to be an interrcom.
Also would these be found in the home to summon servents or just in working appclations.
