Figure is crystal approx. 4" tall by 3" wide and 1 1/2" thick. There is an engraved signature on the bottom that appears to read Loretta L. At first I thought this might be Steuben crystal(it does resemble a few of their fish pieces, but there are some details that differ(the eyes and the tail), and from what I understand, any figure that came out of the Steuben factory was properly marked with their name. Any help with the artist and any other info would be appreciated.

I'm wondering if this had a paper label at some point and the artist who blew the glass signed it

Finally found a definitive ID. Licio Zanetti(murano Italy) the signatur reads Zanetti L. Sorry my camera won't get a good pic of the signature, but I saw an Oscar Zanetti heron earlier today and the signature was nearly identical
