    8 leather dining chairs that i just purchased. Does anyone know anything about them. There is a symbol on each chair. Leather with brass studs.

      I don't know the emblem but the chair looks like something Monterey chair might have made years ago.

      Thank you, I will look into that. They do appear very old as they also have old square nails

      Never judge it by the nails alone. I have boxes full of antique nails and brass tacks. Look at the overall construction. Looking at these I wonder how high the seat is off the floor?

      Seat is 19 inches off of floor, plus it has hand chiseled chair rungs at the bottom. Leather is very thick as well. Leather is 1/4 inch thick

      OK, forget looking up Monterey. I am not sure where you came up with the term " hand chiseled" but you drew my eye to the spreaders/stretchers and they have been pinned aftermarket. I hadn't noticed that before.

      Thank you for your input . I'm just going to take a chair to an antique dealer to see what they say. It's difficult to tell with a picture . I was curious about the crest and where they are from , either way I still love these chairs ,
