Hi, I have had this silver shell for while and was hoping someone would know this mark. I am thinking it is silver or silver plated, I did the magnet test and no magnet will stick to it. There is no mark of silver like 925. But, if it's antique would it have a mark?? I'm learning here so I don't know about that. I have researched the mark but coming up with nothing. It is 6 1/2 x 6 1/2. When I bought it, it was black tarnished and I cleaned it with silver polish. Any help would be great. Thanks

I wonder if the C is for copper base metal.
That could be it... silver over copper. So would it be from 1875-1879. Because they switched to R Wallace & Sons Mfg. Thanks walksoftly for all your help.
You're most welcome.
Thanks SEAN68 any idea on what the C stands for?
