      Cool piece, looks in great shape. Certainly worth something but no clue how much.

      Looks to be a Civil War era soldier holding a sword.

      The hat is unusual-- some additional facts may be determined with a closer inspection.

      The photograph is either a tintype or an ambrotype.

      I collect and deal in antique photographs and they have a very good value.

      Size and other factors set the value. Your particular image is in the hundreds. I'd have to see more pictures to make a better determination.
