Designed by Marianne Westman 1954- 1969 for Rorstrand Sweden this iconic pattern Picknick remained on the shop floor for 2 years before the powers that be agreed to its production and it became an instant success! This is the larger of the two salad bowls available we just love the history design, and hand painted wash/glaze on these vegetables and herbs surrounding the rim of this Asymmetrical bowl, rescued from our local opp shop for the price of 2 beers! 2 beers we certainly didn't mind missing out on! A find like this to us makes all the days we comeback empty handed worthwhile
Thanks for the love racer4four, vetraio50 and aghcollect!
Thanks for posting this, it's so nice to see that swedish 'everyday' (ones, now retro) pieces are loved like this. This is a very nice piece!
Thankyou Elisabethan! Wow did you or were you lucky enough to grow up and use these beautiful pieces? I know my family never owned anything like this? Is Rorstrand still as big over there as I think they are?
Sorry I missed this before, I don't think we had it in my house but it was everywhere, at relatives, neighbours and friends houses.
I'm born in the 1970's but grew up with Mon Ami, Ostindia and the brown Anemon in my family home.
At my grandparents it was Prunus and Blå blom. So it was a mix of Rörstrand and Gustavsberg in my childhood. A lot of these designs are still very big here :). My favourite is Prunus.

Just the most gorgeous crockery I have ever seen! Ahead of its time designed mid century but just at home on today's table!
Cool love it !!
