Wow, beautiful.
I love it kyra!
BEAUTIFUL!!
It's so gracious! It looks like it could also be worn as a pendant.
Thank you so much my friends for your kind comments!
Thanks Walksoftly, and Roycroft for your loves :-)
Freiheit, I will try to match it with something to wear as a necklace and will post the result!
I am looking forward to see it:)
Such a pretty pin:)
It is a very cool shape, I wonder if it is a real butterfly species, or an artist's fantasy? What does the hallmark look like? Looks like "N.DS" to me?
(Sorry, I meant what do those letters of the hallmark look like TO YOU?)
A cracker!
Many thanks to the 15 lovers!
Kiwipaul, after cleaning the hall mark with a wooden tooth pick, and upon close magnified examination, I found :
a closed crown for Sheffield,
a "gothic" letter as the 1787 (!!!) on this page:
http://www.925-1000.com/dlc_sheffield.html
and a lion passant.
So , still a mystery for me as I place it around 1900/1910!
Forgot to say: on the pic of the back, this hallmark is close to the C part of the system, other mark near the needle is "sterling"
Beautiful color, turned out nice.
Thank you Trey for your so kind comment :-)
The Sheffield hallmark is unusual for nouveau silver enamel pieces and may provide the clue. Maybe Charles Horner? I believe he occasionally had his pieces hallmarked in Sheffield or Birmingham rather than his usual assay office at Chester.
Thank you for your answer, kiwipaul. What puzzle me is the letter between the crown and the lion... nothing like it in the time area for Sheffield!
What an elegant pin!
What a lovely comment, Pops !
Really unique and SO in the spirit of its time! simply beautiful!
So right austro! I have not seen this shape before!
never seen anything like it, and it's as beautiful and delicate as can be
